Solar Powered LED Signals
Solar powered LED signals have the capability of getting power from sunlight, which makes them suited for the signals in the places where power lines are not available but traffic condition need to be controlled.
Solar powered signals have solar panel installed in their power supply systems and store the unused power in batteries as the backup power supply. These LED signals usually include high brightness LEDs of three individual colors - red, yellow and green.
The LEDs are all under the control of MCUs which give switching instructions to LED drivers according to the preset programs; hence the LED signals can work properly. With RS-485 port, the MCU can also receive controlling information from traffic signals control box or the information sent by GPRS modules in the control network. In addition, the MCU is able to monitor the working state of solar cells and lead-acid batteries, and determine if abnormal conditions occur and adjustment is required.
Solar powered LED signals utilize sunlight as their power source, eliminating the need for traditional power supply and thus reducing environment pollution. Employing these signal lights in a large scale can effectively save power and contribute to the solution for power crisis concerning the world.
